Problem-Reaction-Solution

The brightest future will always be based on a forgotten past. You can’t go on well in life until you let go of your past failures and heartaches. When the door of happiness closes, another opens but often times we look so long at the closed door that we don’t see the one which has been opened for us.

Having a dozen people in my ‘meditation live-in center’, those doors take on strange challenges, for example when using the bathroom at 4:30am the other morning, the door knob just ‘malfunctioned’, the round knob came off leaving me stuck in the bathroom and not wanting to wake everyone up for help. After 15 minutes and some positive thinking, I was able to open it quietly. The door of ‘solutions’ sometimes needs a relaxed thinking process to come to the  solution. That leaves me with another solution needed – who’s going to fix the door as I’m not the ‘carpentry type’ except for attempting ‘human psychological’ fixing. A friend who has been here 5 days from Tampa, Fl. was up minutes later with ‘fixit’ skills for later in the day solution.  Problem-reaction-solution is always there in the calm of focusing on the moments dilemma.

Positive thinking is not about ‘expecting’ the best to happen, but about accepting that whatever happens is always the best time to see it as an opportunity to find the best answer or solution to make the most favorable of circumstances. Expect nothing and hope for the best while giving all things your finest shot! Situations that arise create a form of personal ‘mind manipulation’. The mind often controls you, but you have the ability to control the mind. Focusing on the best way to respond is almost guaranteed to spin the ‘predicament’ into a better frame of mind.

Often problems are created by none other than ‘self created’ by you not paying attention enough and thinking things through. Blaming others while not accepting your part in the problem only exacerbates the situation. All problems have solutions, especially ones that you have a part in. You should accept your ability to control things as much as possible in your life rather then let someone else or the unknown control you. Habits control people. Examine your life for ones that could be replaced by a better habit and get in the habit of letting go troublesome intruding thoughts. We Give Our Lives meaning – So if you feel like life is meaningless, that’s your fault. Remember, everything comes with an opportunity – always take the high road!
