Karma Yoga is one of the four spiritual paths in Hinduism, one based on the “yoga of action”. To a karma yogi, right work done well is a form of prayer. It is one of the paths in the spiritual practices of Hindus, but on addition is a divine path for all humanity.

Chop Wood – Carry Water, known as ‘selfless action’ … and a spiritual one. It is ‘Karma Yoga’. Whatever we do in life, it doesn’t much matter, it is the state of mind that we do it in, that matters. ‘Giving with no expectation of return’ is a high quality of an evolved being even with mundane matters like washing your own dishes, as well as for others who don’t do it for themselves. Make it a point to give nice positive words of love and encouragement with no expectation of acknowledgement is something everyone can give.

Act as if this is going to be the last moment! Act with that urgency, because death can overtake you any moment. Don’t listen to the mind. Mind can go on and on postponing things and, before mind allows you to do anything, death may have knocked you down. Do good, because doing good immediately brings joy. Think about how futile using negative words or actions are for what, if it’s your last moments?

Life is playful and at the same time serious, requiring giving to all life’s facets for the unexpected response of all in life. He who lives for just his benefit, even in giving, carries unhealed impediments within their past.  Act in truthfulness of no reward for the betterment of all as if this day is the day that you will be forever judged upon. Whether you are among the richest, poorest, most enlightened, you are the same in the eyes of life – no better or worse than another.

Did you know that dolphins are so smart that within a few weeks of captivity, the can train people to stand on the very edge of the pool and throw them fish? People turn to stone inside with habits that are unconscious and debilitating to themselves and others, meaning they are frozen to let go of useless habits in exchange for ones that are uplifting to a more enlightened life of love. There is a saying that you can’t teach an old dog new tricks, but unfortunately that applies to most of humanity. Technology is skyrocketing in changes making it arduous to keep up with it. Why try to keep up with those new amazing befuddlements and yet ignore keeping up with evolving within? It is the most selfless thing to do good for yourself, those you connect with, as well as the world that so needs your input. Be free, but with consciousness.
