Free Speech Sucks?
May 10, 2016
There are hundreds of words in the English language that are ‘trigger’ words to set people into censoring of free speech. New ones seem to be added every year! One almost has to take a college class to know what words to avoid because most people can easily be rocked into negative judgment. As someone who has done years of public free speech I have especially become aware of ‘trigger’ words, even new ones, like the guy running for President at the moment – ‘Trump’!
We are a rare country that promotes free speech, even if it’s a ‘paper thin tiger’ with marginal active meaning as soon as it triggers someone’s sacred perception, especially those who are threatened by ideas such as politicians, religious leaders, academia, on and on. There are words that evoke outrage that are often meaningless unless followed or preceded by a name or concept. For example, it’s commonly accepted to say, ‘that sucks’, but when used with another word can cause outrage. Using ‘sucks’ with Hillary (Clinton running for President) in ‘Hillary Sucks’, I actually had a woman park her car the other day after she drove by and saw those big letters I had put on one of my free speech boards. Fortunately, I calmed her down and explained why.
Several years ago, I was on a National TV show called ‘Moral Court’ hosted by famous judge, Larry Elder. My use of ‘trigger words’ was being questioned by two ‘accusers’ complaining about offensive language. The judge, having pictures of some of my free speech ‘boards’, pointed to one saying ‘Jesus Sucked a WHAT?! (word was Tit)’. Of course all babies do, but I touched some people’s ‘sacred word space’. Anyway, I won the case.
There is a FEAR of free speech to both speak anything, hear or read anything that activates some kind of programmed ‘fear neuron’ in the mind. Limiting free speech from a person or ‘organization’ is a sign of immaturity and fear of their false self image.
‘’If Muslims want to be welcomed into Western societies, they must accept our values and way of life and freedoms. Islam and Islamic government are a unique threat to free speech and liberty. Freedom of speech is the foundation of a free society. Without it, a tyrant can wreak havoc unopposed, while his opponents are silenced. Putting up with being offended is essential in a pluralistic society in which people differ on basic truths. If a group will not bear being offended without resorting to violence, that group will rule unopposed while everyone else lives in fear, while other groups curtail their activities to appease the violent group. This results in the violent group being able to tyrannize the others.’’
Meditation only works for the individual with inner peace, not for greedy and corrupt people (Meditating is the technique to arrive at meditation); they have little heart and little connection to soul, nothing is going to happen but rotating dissension from them. Having peaceful and noble thoughts are great as it creates positive vibration. With deep self love, you are receptive lovingly to all and their speech. Love and free speech is the master plan!
