Love is great for everybody! A favorite alcohol drink in loving moderation is great for some! Nice as a good social relaxer too … for some. A sensible drink is a great relaxer when in mixed company particularly with stranger friends! A ‘gin and tonic’ or a cold beer on a hot summer day at the beach. A special Margherita with salt in the evening accompanying good Mexican food. Sunday brunch with a bloody mary or a glass of champagne, and a little champagne does the trick! A little sip of communion wine at church service along with a cracker.

Now, ‘self management’ is the key to any use of drinking alcohol! Booze can come with consequences! Alcohol is sneaky with out discerning awareness of the possible consequences! The secret to everything is ‘balance’ within yourself and the outer world.

All mind altering substances have the ability to either affect our ‘love being’ immediately or with consistent use. Full love needs no partnership with any mind altering usage. No one needs any drug to feel love regardless of the sense that more emotion is felt when under the influence, which is nothing more than ink that becomes invisible within minutes, or paint that washes off with water. The feelings of a person on mind altering chemicals, natural or not, are not real except in the moment.

Most who are, in the moment, affected by consumption of alcohol have no experience of self witnessing that they are behaving differently and often  negatively so, than they would ordinarily. Denial by the user of being affected in ways that often are seen as negative by the watcher are dismissed as not true, whether they acknowledge it while in that ‘state’ or later. In the presence of an aware person they appear altered in personality to the point of being a person to avoid. People who are ‘inebriated’ will often not own that they are, while not having empathy and compassion for those they are addressing.

The seven deadly sins will often come to the surface to one degree or the other when the being is altered by intakes which are all hallucinogenics skewing ones centeredness. Those sins that arise to one degree or the other are: Lust; gluttony; greed; sloth (failure to recognize spiritual virtues); wrath (rage); envy; and pride (boasting which is often offensive or obnoxious). Always be in the heart with empathy and compassion for those on the receiving end of your ‘giving’, verbally or otherwise! Life is an ‘art’. The greatest art is the art of love and living!
