Bastards & Bitches

Many people who live on the outside of who they really are, become ‘insensitives’ to others when they wish to conjure up a reason. These people will initiate throwing a ‘wrench’ into a relationship often causing a disconnection and making it difficult to repair especially for the one hit with the ‘wrench’. When compassion of communication is not forthcoming from the one initiating the disconnect, I prefer to call their act that of a bastard or bitch, particularly when their offered ‘repentance’ hangs in eternal obscurity. Rarely is this person not clinging to unresolved childhood perceptions of abuse and will full denial and laziness to correct it.

One of the often-cited sayings is from around 2,500 years ago. It’s from the respected Chinese philosopher Sun Tzu in his small masterpiece, ‘The Art of War’. For centuries it’s been one of the most influential strategy writings not only in Asia, but also the Western world. It goes as follows:

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you  will succumb in every battle.”

In other words, you can best protect yourself in all interactions if you know and love your inner self, and if you are like 95% of people, you don’t! Knowing yourself, if you’re one of the lucky few, only works all the time when interacting with just yourself, or with someone who also does.

The reality today is that the negative memories that influence all your interactions with yourself and another are entirely capable of being overcome by choice, and even by rewiring what negatives have followed you, or even your deepest beliefs also.  An umbrella term that describes lasting change to the brain throughout your life is called ‘neuroplasticity’ or brain malleability. Provoking thinking differently with intention may take a concerted effort but the results are like taking years of painting off of a house, preparing it for a new coat, and applying it for a whole new look.

The many different techniques of meditating, which will soften the mind and open the heart more, will further the intent of change to what creates the ‘bastard and bitch’ in you, and/or provide the best ability to deal with all situations internally and from others. A revolution of the mind and heart is within your reach. Try it if you’re not already doing it!
