Who’s Going to Show Up?

October 27, 2012
Never, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night. You never know who’s going to show up before ‘willing your life’ to someone! The ‘ghosts of the past’ will sleep in your bed, unless they’ve been, for lack of a better word, ‘exorcised’. Faulty discernment in picking a partner, and soon you will be sleeping with a stranger that will take more than love to convert to who they really are. There are some things difficult to control like ‘blind love’ for what really amounts to the wrong reasons anyway. Love is often mixed with imaginary expectations, and generally not knowing what you are getting into on many levels.

The majority of people have a ‘dark side’ to one degree or another. If one has a ‘dark side’, communication and an agreement to own it when it shows up with compassion for the other’s space is demonstrating ‘love’. A ‘marriage’ on a soul level has nothing to do with a ‘certificate of marriage’. A real marriage is a surrender by both people into an unconditional love happening where each has ‘let go’ of all protections to be, and think from a new being of an ‘us or we’. No secrets or no surprises. That rarely happens due to ‘getting’ at least each one being 2 different people in the partnership (and that equals 4 faces).

It’s far more common to hear, ‘he or she’ is so different than before we married’. Love is multi-sided, both a blessing and a curse. The curse is when it later reveals that it blinded you to see the other as they really are without downplaying the problems. Then there is the question that ‘is it really what you want’? Is the partnership itself more a problem than the other person? Is it constraining on who you think you are? And perhaps even more dangerous – love that’s not deep enough tends to expose unresolved issues in either one.

One has to ‘grow up’ before ‘showing up’, or one of the greatest opportunities of love and life will be missed right in front of your eyes. God is a state of being! Be true to who you are deep inside. Allow the mind to be your friend, not one that changes it’s perception of your best side all the time. Release your inhibitions, leave the past and see the present as a real ‘blessed present’! The best friend of your mind is an open heart always showing up!
