Changing is a Bitch

March 4, 2012
It?s a pity that most are hardwired to be exactly the same way they were when before they became adults, and with little likelihood of change throughout life. The immature human mind thinks that it doesn?t need to examine itself. People look for acceptance. Finding it, although only perception, they will refuse to believe any outside views which conflict with the comfort of being who they have come to believe they are justified in being. Think of a gate to a parking garage. It only opens when the right amount of money is accepted no matter what the driver thinks should be otherwise.
Humans look at themselves as having an entrance fee to win their satisfaction. That translates into not crossing the line of their perception of themselves even though, common sense would welcome the ?change? to be better in tune with a more
harmonious, positive, evolving self. An openness to learn, communicate, and be wrong are steps into knowing beyond half knowledge of oneself. Why have a shield up to defend from what might be the true facts? Those who know themselves are rarely disturbed by what others think. One
who doesn?t know themselves, always keeps others on thin ice as to what to say or not.
Self ignorance is always hidden from others. Hiding behind an illusion of who you really are is tantamount to missing yourself in action. We are, in reality, one and the same with just circumstances that create an illusion of separation. The ?self knowing?, or wise remain the same, and undisturbed by whatever others say. Not knowing all about yourself and yet pretending to know all about a Jesus or Muhammad is pure insanity, especially
when one drops all common sense of questioning his beliefs. It is wise to be free of the attachment to beliefs that have every possibility of being wrong.
The question always needs to be, ?how will you respond? to what you perceive as an ?insult? – and you will be insulted many times. How will your heart and mind respond? Why not be thankful that someone has had the courage to either tell you the truth about yourself or expose themselves as not even knowing themselves enough to be accurate. How can you not expect, and appreciate another?s freedom to say what they feel? Change is the only perfect reality. Why not go with the flow, and rise above all others perceptions by examining your own?
