Trump & Sin’s Pride

‘’Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall, Humpty Dumpty had a great fall; Threescore men and threescore more, cannot place Humpty Dumpty as he was before.’’ Humpty Dumpty was a famous riddle rhyme from Mother Goose’s melody that can be used as an allegory to one of the ‘seven deadly sins’ called, ‘Pride’. ‘Pride’, in it’s negative usage means, “the love of one’s own excellence”, or indulgence in a high, or inordinate opinion of one’s own dignity, importance, merit, or superiority, whether as cherished in the mind or as displayed in bearing, conduct, etc.

Donald Trump, the billionaire developer of ‘Trump Hotels’ in plush surroundings internationally, as in Dubai, perhaps fits the ‘rich pompous’ image of a ‘pride filled’ person. On the other end is the person who is too filled with self pride to ask for help that they need. Pride in any accomplishment with an air of humbleness and humility is a good thing, but when one becomes attached to it, followed by ‘self importance’, it becomes a character flaw as well as a block to any spiritual self evolvement.

Whether it be the beauty all the guys desire, or the superstar athlete, or the penniless homeless person, being ‘too proud’ will become a ‘noose around the neck’ that will show up in daily encounters, and surely when the bell tolls for the gray haired days when ‘mirror-mirror on the wall’ speaks a confusing reply. Being ‘Humpty Dumpty, and Queen or King of any ball is certain to experience a fall.

To be prayerful, meditative, and thankful for all the many blessings, including life, does not need the ‘posturing’ to go along with it.  One of ‘enlightenment’ never boasts, or even acknowledges the presence of the divine spirit’s coming within.  There is only comfortable room for the ‘real, authentic you’ inside, and not the crowd of clowns that rattle for attention, or cower in the corners of the fragile ego. America is a nation of arrogance, like many people, and yet there are countries of great poverty with low education controlled by a ‘dictator of pride’. A human with little possessions but the clothes on his back, and their heart open, shall inherit the blessings of the universe in every watchful day. Seek the blessings within, and the blessing without will assist in nurturing them through the storms as well as the gentle breezes.
